About Habitat For Humanity

South Shore Habitat is a local chapter of the global Habitat for Humanity International nonprofit organization. Habitat, founded in 1976, works with local towns and cities to build & repair homes in the community, to combat the growing shortage of affordable housing.

In addition to meeting certain income & lifestyle thresholds, Habitat homeowners are also required to assist in the construction of their own home. In return they are given a fresh start in their brand-new home, with a cost-controlled 30-year mortgage.

Norfolk Community Outreach

Norfolk Kitchen & Bath has partnered several times with Habitat for Humanity over the years, including other home build projects and the donation of thousands of dollars in cabinets to local Habitat ReStores. These stores sell gently used furniture, appliances, home goods & building materials, at a reduced cost, to raise money for their future construction projects.

Other local organizations Norfolk has partnered with include Metro Housing Boston, Pine Street Inn, the Greater Boston Food Bank, Girl Scouts, Police Athletic League, and more. From affordable housing projects to local health programs, Norfolk Kitchen & Bath is always looking for new ways to give back to the community.
