Designer Cabinet Construction Options:
Framed Overlay
Door & drawer headers are in front of the cabinet’s face frame, and are slightly larger than the cabinet opening so that they overlay the frame. Framed cabinets are also the most common cabinet construction in today’s kitchens. Partial or full-overlay options are available, depending on the door style you choose.
Inset
Doors & drawer headers are fitted inside of the cabinet face frame. Popular because of the “built-in” look, inset cabinets usually require a higher level of precision and craftsmanship, which can sometimes lead to a higher cost than framed cabinetry.
Full-Access/Frameless
Also known as European-style or frameless, full-access cabinetry is constructed without a face frame, and is found in many contemporary kitchens. This construction is popular because of it’s ability to show off simple, clean lines.

Our custom kitchen cabinets have a limitless selection of cabinet colors & finishes to choose from. There are over 30 standard paint offerings, as well as specialty finish options & custom paint matching through Sherwin Williams. Custom cabinet paint finishes use a multi-step process, including a final topcoat with an oven-baked varnish for superior durability. All finishes are offered in your choice of satin or matte sheen.

In addition, the ColorSelect Custom program lets you choose a color from any paint brand. Specialty Custom Cabinet Finishes
Additionally, our custom kitchen cabinets also offer customization through handcrafted cabinet glazing and vintage finishing. Glazing adds contrast and depth to areas of detail on your cabinets. Vintage finishing uses techniques like hand-paddling, over-sanding, chain distressing, and dry brushing to create an elegant aged look to your cabinets.
Cabinet Stains
While many of our kitchens predominately consist of painted cabinetry, many homeowners still elect to use stained cabinets, particularly as an accent piece like a kitchen island. There are a large variety of cabinet stain options available. In addition to the standard offerings, our designer cabinets also offer more translucent character stain options, which highlight the grain and variations found in the cabinet wood. Since the look of stained cabinetry varies depending on the wood species, we recommend that you always view physical cabinet samples at one of our 6 local design showrooms.

Our manufacturing partners offer a wide variety of custom kitchen cabinet upgrades to add to your design. These upgrades include things like pull-out drawers, mullion glass cabinets, wood hoods, mixer lifts, cutlery dividers, spice shelving – your imagination is the limit!
Cabinet upgrades are not only meant to accessorize your new kitchen but are also intended to help the design be more functional. In fact, many homeowners who choose not to add cabinet upgrades to their kitchen design end up regretting it later on.
