My Background: After working in the arts for several years after college, I began working in residential construction through a temp job as an office manager. I quickly became less interested in office managing and more interested in having a hand in the spaces we were designing and bringing to life. I enrolled in the Kitchen and Bath design program at Boston Architectural College and began my design journey which has included kitchen and bath sales as well as whole house design for a local high end residential architecture firm.
What I Love About Designing: I am a creative person and love the problem-solving aspect of kitchen and bath design. Most clients come with one or more things that drive them crazy about their existing space, and it’s very rewarding to be able to help them solve the issue and transform their spaces.
Advice For Homeowners: If you’re moving into a new home, live in the space for a little while to understand what the issues are with the existing kitchen. It’s better to go into a remodel knowing exactly what you need rather than wishing you’d thought of something once in process.
Fun Fact: I live in Newton with my husband, two kids and our rescue cat Theo. Both of my kids play hockey (and my husband covers hockey!) so you can usually find me at a rink when I’m not in the showroom. My happy place is in Harpswell, Maine, where my family recently purchased an 1850’s farmhouse.

Alyssa (Framingham location) was incredible transforming a 1980s kitchen with poor functional layout (kitchen island/sink 9 feet away from stove and fridge!) and tired, builder grade appearance into my dream kitchen. I didn’t even realize how her helpful framing of questions during the design process were leading us towards improved layout, maximizing space, and beautiful design choices – her expertise was apparent and balanced for someone like me not conversant in design terminology. She made function and design options clear and helped while guiding me to excellent decisions within my desired budget. Steve managed the install by Cristiano – both were great communicating through the install process. High quality craftsmanship, trouble shooting (as Murphy’s Law warrants adjustments!), and making the renderings come to life. I am so pleased and grateful to Norfolk!
