Norfolk Kitchen & Bath was approached by Karen Holmes Ward of WCVB – Channel 5 in Boston to be a part of their Extreme Makeover – Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts.   We were excited to be part of this opportunity and help out a wonderful organization that helps build our future leaders.

The History:

Great Hall at Camp Cedar Hill, is located at the Eastern Massachusetts Campus in Waltham was a barn which was Cedar Hill Dairy, owned and operated by the Warren Family, and was donated to the Girl Scouts in the early 1900’s, and converted to a meeting place for the Girl Scouts.  A wood floor replaced the concrete, a kitchen was added and the roof was raised in 1929.  After many years of building leaders, it received a well-deserved renovation headed up by WCVB, Channel 5 and it’s advertising partners, including Norfolk Kitchen & Bath.

Our Part:

Norfolk Kitchen & Bath helped on the kitchen design, and installation of the all-new maple kitchen cabinets, hardware, and granite countertops. There were 3 baths added and our custom countertop shop supplied the Corian countertops and sinks, the materials were donated by Dupont Corian.  Many of our vendor partners helped out to donate some of the materials, including a generous donation of granite countertops from Top Line Granite Design, and Sunco Cabinets for the kitchen remodel.  We all came together and were able to transform the space into a beautiful & functional new meeting area for the Girl Scouts, at no cost to them.

“Norfolk Kitchen & Bath could not have imagined a better partner than the Girl Scouts and WCVB with this Extreme Makeover.  It is a great organization that helps girls grow and develop. We are thrilled to be part of the project”, said Ben Rosen of The Norfolk Companies.
