Advice/tips for home owners when purchasing a kitchen:
For many this can be an overwhelming project. My advice is to break the process into steps. For example, focus on the layout and function of the design. Then you can choose the door style and finish. You’ll find that once you make one decision, the next is easier.
What do you love about designing kitchens?
Every kitchen and Homeowner is different. That means no two designs will ever be the same!
Any special skills or interests?
I recently completed a certification class through the National Association of Home Builders. I am now a Certified Aging in Place (CAPS) specialists. My focus will be working with contractors and Architects who need a kitchen design, that will accommodate their customers changing needs.
I am really excited to focus on this area. Simple suggestions and modifications can really impact the way a family member can participate with the meal preparation. For many it allows a safe area to continue their independence.
What do you like to do for fun?
I really like spending time outside. My family enjoys camping and fishing in the summer. We basically just like being near the water.
