Norfolk Kitchen & Bath Supplies Kitchen For NH Tiny Home Build

This year, Tiny House New Hampshire has sponsored the construction of 5 Tiny Homes across NH, to support high school students pursuing the construction trades industry. Norfolk Kitchen & Bath, to assist the program, has donated all of the cabinetry & countertops for the Alvirne High School Tiny House. This house is still under construction, and is expected to finish later this year. The Tiny Houses were displayed at the 50th NH State Home Show in Manchester, NH from March 17-19, 2017. View details & photos of the ongoing project below.

The Program:

Tiny House New Hampshire is a workforce development initiative designed to encourage students from NH Career Technical Centers to consider the construction industry. Key aspects of this program are:

  • While building the Tiny Houses, students will address their class core requirements.
  • NH Home Builders Association members are involved, as mentors, and will help the Building Trade instructors cover all aspects of the construction trade industry.
  • The expected publicity will raise awareness of the need for home builders and remodelers.

There are 4 Career Technical Centers committed to building 5 Tiny Houses:

  1. Huot Technical Center (Laconia High School – Laconia, NH)
  2. Mt. Washington Valley Career & Technical Center (Kennett High School – North Conway, NH)
  3. Wilbur H. Palmer Vocational & Technical Center (Alvirne High School – Hudson, NH)
  4. Seacoast School of Technology (Exeter, NH)

All Tiny Houses were publicly displayed at the 50th NH State Home Show at the Manchester Radisson Hotel from March 17-19, 2017.

Our Part:

Norfolk Kitchen & Bath generously donated the cabinetry & countertops for the Tiny House being built at Alvirne High School (Wilbur H. Palmer Vocational & Technical Center) in Hudson, New Hampshire. One of our experienced, professional designers drew a design for the students & instructor to review. The kitchen design was based on the tiny house blueprints acquired by Alvirne High School.

Norfolk assisted the students in their selection of cabinet finishes and countertop colors & edges, giving the students an in-depth view of how a real, functional kitchen is designed. Norfolk delivered the cabinets & countertops to their workspace at Alvirne High School, and the program instructor will show the students how a cabinet is put together & installed, from start to finish. View images of the technical kitchen drawing below, and stay tuned for up-to-date photos as the project finishes up later this year.
